This team from the Balkan Peninsula already counts among regular participants at the European Championship tournaments. It was 11 years ago in Choceň, Czech Republic, when the Croats first faced top European national teams. Back then, the inexperienced squad finished last among eight teams. They repeated this feat two years later. The team’s biggest success to date came in 2007, when they took 6th spot, which they defended two years later. Team Croatia cannot probably be expected to have any say in the medal games, but they can still surprise the top teams and make them bring their A game.
Croatian club teams have also already had a chance to play against European top teams. Teams such as Princ Jarun, Zagreb Giants or SK Mrki Medvedi have been regular participants at European Champions‘ Cups, European Cup Winners‘ Cups as well as at the Super Cup. They haven’t recorded any significant success on this level, and they have always been considered the outsiders of the tournament. But one thing can never be taken away from them – they have always performed to the best of their abilities, and they will definitely show their best game in Havlíčkův Brod and Pardubice.
